Orthodontics
Many patients ask how orthodontic issues can be treated. Our dentists at Aspen Dental offer treatment options such as traditional braces and clear aligners to help straighten your smile.
How Orthodontics Work
Whether our patient is a child, teenager or adult, the goal of orthodontic treatment is the same — to straighten teeth so they function better and look better.
To achieve this goal, we use braces or clear aligners to apply gentle pressure to your teeth and move them into the correct position over a period of months or years.
Traditional Braces
Traditional braces have been used for decades to help straighten teeth. In recent years, orthodontic treatment has advanced to bring us braces that are low-profile, more comfortable and easier to care for. They can be made of either metal or ceramic.
How Braces Straighten Teeth
Over time, braces will apply continuous pressure to the teeth, gradually shifting them into their new, corrected positions.
As pressure is applied and your teeth move, the bone's shape changes to accommodate the new positions of the teeth.
Invisalign Clear Aligners
Invisalign clear aligners help to gradually straighten your smile using a series of individually customized, clear plastic aligners that are adjusted over a period of time determined by your dentist.
You'll be able to remove your clear aligners when you'd prefer that no one be aware that you are straightening your teeth.
Similar in appearance to custom whitening trays, they are easy to insert. They can be removed so you can eat, drink, brush and floss without having to navigate around them.
